Learn English in Australia / New Zealand

Australia

Brisbane

Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia's "Sunshine State", is located on the Brisbane river and has a wonderful climate all year round. Attractions such as beaches and rainforests are only an hour away.
The riverside parklands, markets selling a fantastic range of fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood, wooden houses, and cultural centre are favourite attractions within the city.

The School

LSI Brisbane is centrally located in a heritage building in the heart of the city close to public transport, shops and restaurants. It is only a short walk to the sophisticated Queen Street Mall and the heart of Queensland's retail and financial districts. The riverside Botanical Gardens are within easy reach of the school. We have pleasant air-conditioned classrooms, a spacious student common room, a computer room with free internet and e-mail access and a learning centre with resource materials.
Our leisure programme allows you to practise your English while you enjoy the attractions of sunny Brisbane. We offer sightseeing trips, sports and weekend excursions, and many of the activities are free or low cost.

New Zealand

Auckland: City of Sails

Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, is situated on a narrow stretch of land in the north of the country. The city's two harbours have earned it the name of "City of Sails".

Auckland has magnificent beaches and perfect sailing conditions. A boat trip to the islands in the Hauraki Gulf is an experience not to be missed. Auckland is the financial and business centre of New Zealand and, as such, it naturally offers attractive shopping amenities, for example the Atrium on Elliott Street. The largest collection of Polynesian and Maori art in the world is on show at the Auckland Museum. Those who wish to see typical New Zealand bush can take a trip through the Waitakere Ranges in West Auckland.

The School

LSI Auckland has two campuses in the centre of Auckland, both close to cafes and restaurants and just a ten minute walk away from bus links. The Scotia Place campus has bright classrooms which overlook the phoenix palm trees in Myers Park. The other campus overlooks cafes in Auckland's fashionable High Street. Facilities include a computer room with internet access, a television and video, a small library and student common rooms.

The social activities programme includes three categories of activity: cultural, social and sporting. For example, students can take part in a diving course or learn to sail in summer and in winter there is weekend skiing, windsurfing and horse-riding and more.

Christchurch: the Garden City

Christchurch is famous for its natural beauty and a wealth of things to do. The city has a lively entertainment scene, strong cultural heritage, gorgeous parks and gardens, lots of sports facilities and good shopping. Among the 'must sees' are the weekend Arts Centre market, Christchurch Cathedral, the Botanic Gardens and the International Antarctic Centre.
Away from the city there is much to see within a short distance. To the east lie the open ocean and Banks Peninsula, featuring sheltered bays, sandy beaches, and rugged coastline, ideal for boating. To the west, past forests and lakes lie the highest mountains in Australasia, the Southern Alps, offering perfect skiing conditions in the winter. A journey north reveals green rolling hills, forests and long, empty beaches, with the whale-watching centre of Kaikoura about 2 hours' drive away.

The School

LSI Christchurch is located in the centre of the city in Education House in Victoria Street. It is close to public transport, shops and restaurants. Facilities include 5 classrooms, a computer room with free internet access and a comfortable student common room to relax in after classes.
Practise your English while you enjoy the varied activities that Christchurch has to offer. LSI Christchurch has a social activities programme that is relaxing and stimulating, and makes the most of the beautiful location and cool climate. You can choose from sightseeing trips by tram, boating on the river Avon, fishing, skiing in the Southern Alps in winter, learning about Maori culture and many more activities.
